If extractions are needed, they are typically performed at the same appointment as implant placement so you are not scheduling multiple separate surgeries. On the day of surgery, Dr. Williams places the implants and attaches a temporary prosthetic arch so you do not leave without teeth. A board-certified anesthesiologist is present for the procedure to keep you comfortable and safe throughout. For enhanced comfort, we can administer Exparel, a long-acting local anesthetic that provides pain relief for up to 3 days after surgery. A soft food diet is recommended during the initial healing phase while the implants begin to integrate with the bone. Dr. Williams schedules follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and make sure everything is healing on track. Most patients return to normal daily activities within a few days of surgery, with full integration typically complete within a few months.
